Direct Mail – Still a Viable Option to Get Your Message OUT!

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Hello Renegades! Continuing with our Monday Q&A Column, here’s a simple, but massively effective marketing query to rock your revenue and keep your biz building!

Question:  What is the best way to market to a highly qualified, very specific prospect list?  I only have the residential addresses, no e-mail or phone numbers.

Answer:  Direct mail! I am starting to study this, and it fascinates me. It’s definitely time for us to do this at Mighty Ventures. You’ll want to send at least three, hopefully five, pieces over a 7-10 day period of time. Repetition is really the key here – and be SURE to use compelling messages. Test and see which messages generate action, and bear in mind the repeated exposure lends a cumulative effect.  A great product + a great message + a highly qualified specific list is a sure hit.

How to Create Revenue in Order to Outsource & How to Outsource to Create Revenue!

Monday, March 30th, 2009

As we all know when we’re building our businesses, there are a multitude of tasks that we KNOW we should outsource, but we often end up with very little money to spend in that direction.  So how do we determine which tasks are most crucial to pay someone else to do? And how the heck do we figure out how to get the rest done with no more money to spend on outsourcing?

The answer to the outsourcing dilemma is simple: You can either bootstrap and grow more slowly (by doing everything yourself), or you can create a company which has currency (stock) and share it with others in order to pay them less compensation. Either way, you can’t expect people to work for you for free. I recommend that you post a compelling pitch for a loan on http://www.prosper.com, then get some business traction (more clients, strategic partners, etc.), and then seek more financing. Also be sure to focus only on your needle moving activities for the short and long term. (So, you’ll need to map out your six-month plan to be sure your projects are supporting the results you want.) A mentor, coach, advisory board and community can help with this. That’s it! Don’t get distracted by tasks that wont provide significant movement toward your goals.

You can also put your business through my Strategy Session Now assessment at http://www.StrategySessionNow.com – it will help you to identify the building blocks that you may be missing to create a strong foundation for growth, and you may even qualify for a free strategy session with me or one of my Mighty Ventures strategy experts.

To your ROCKIN’ success!
